I’m Jeffrey Horowitz—a 19-year-old college freshman born and raised right here in Staten Island. Growing up, I’ve seen firsthand how public policies often miss the mark when it comes to supporting our community. Staten Islanders work hard, yet we’re often overlooked and left out of decisions that shape our daily lives.
I’ve decided I can’t stand by and let that continue. That’s why I’m running for New York City Council—to be the voice Staten Island deserves. Our community needs bold, fresh ideas and leaders who genuinely care about putting us first. Together, we can build a future that prioritizes fairness, smarter policies, and real solutions for the issues we face.
Taking on Congestion Pricing
Why it matters:
Congestion pricing is set to deeply impact our community in Staten Island, placing an unfair burden on hardworking families who rely on their cars to commute. As your representative, I believe there’s a better way to fund and improve New York City’s public transportation system—one that doesn’t penalize our residents or make life harder for those already stretched thin.
My campaign is focused on fighting for practical, equitable, and forward-thinking solutions to address the challenges facing our transit system. From smart investments in real estate taxes to green energy initiatives, I’m committed to ensuring Staten Island has a voice in shaping policies that work for everyone. Let’s improve transportation for all New Yorkers without leaving our community behind.
